Job Cost Constants Job Cost Constants are entered every pay period and allow the Labor Tracking Module to calculate the employer's burdens for payroll taxes and benefits. Since the Labor Tracking Module is designed for use in the field (often in remote locations) it is not an accounting system, and therefore, does not generate a payroll. This means that the module does not have a history of payroll taxes paid per employee or employer contributions to 401k plans, etc. Instead, once the field staff receives a certified payroll for a pay period, the total employer burden is divided by the total hours to get a per hour factor to calculate employer burdens. This factor is what we refer to as the Job Cost Constant and allows the Labor Tracking Module to generate cost reports, invoice backup reports, etc. Note: Even though the Labor Tracking Module is not an accounting system Kallensoft has successfully implemented add-ons that upload the hours into various payroll systems of major accounting applications. Some examples are front-ending Oracle1, MAS 2002, and J D Edwards1 accounting systems. 1 Oracle and JD Edwards are trademarks of Oracle Corporation 2 MAS 200 is a trademark of Sage Software, Inc. | |
